Is summer here in korea and for those who havent been here ill tell u this....its SOOO humid its not even funny, the feeling its not that nice, the mix of high tempetures and humidity are a cocktail of sweat , the main victim of this korean summer its my hair, i have a long and quite think hair, so its been hell trying to make it straight or controlling the volume, freez its my worst enemy here...so i thought..i am at the continent where "magic, japanese straight perm welas developed..so next week im gonna give it a try to this salon that a friend recommened, lets see what gonna happen.( worked like a charm!)
On the 28th of this month ill be celebrating my first YEAR in this country, everything has been great so far, maybe beyond my expectations. i was lucky to be accepted here in Seoul and be part of this great city. Every since i got here i been a a fan of this place even of the people, i think this journey is about that, about unterstanding this new culture, about why people think they way they do, i opened my mind to so many things,so far soo good, im living the asian dream ..:)
I still have a long way ahead, sometimes i have doubts, questions, harsh times, but who doesnt? distance its definitly an important matter.
So, i live in a very popular neighborhood of Seoul, a lot happens here, there´s a lot to see as well such as malls, stores, theathers, club, restaurantes, norebang( karaoke rooms) dvd bang( dvd rooms), universities, Hair salon, Yoga Clubs, subway stations, pc bang, supermarket, etc. i like to blame the above for my expenses or at times my busy social life...(there´s always a nice new place that we have to go cause the food there its to die for). im from a small town of the south of Chile, so to me this is still pleasant, not as from my other chilean friend, he is from the capital, Santiago, so, sometimes he feels like being in a quieter place or simplier spaces...however, this city handle nature quite ok, there´s a lot of beautiful parks in town with great spaces and well maintained grass, numerous places where people can be in touch with nature and the best part... for free.!!!
In this almost first year i´ve learnt korean, made great friends, met great people, went to Thailand and loved it, learnt how to use chopsticks, to handle very well spicy food, learnt asian cultural codes, tried the sweetest fruit ever, understand our cultural differences , the most important thing its that i ve realized that dreams are the base of our paths. i feel inspired by Asia now, i feel i can do great and new things, love it so far
